Murphy was an amazing dog with a stellar personality - sweet, unassuming, and a pleasure to be around. He got along well the the other dogs in his pack, and enjoyed nothing better than grazing alongside the horses in the pasture, going for hikes, and playing in the creek.

He is the progeny of the old, old Mastiffs from long ago, and is the result of a line breeding based on Eng CH Hollesley Medicine Man (who was his paternal G grandfather & maternal GG grandfather). You can see a video of Medicine Man here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjHlVw4BvIQ&feature=related  Murphy's pedigree falls heavily on the English bloodlines of dogs from the 70's and early 80's - many of these dogs have helped to create our breed as we know it today in North America.

Murphy finished his American Championship with 2 back to back majors in Colorado at 18 months old. During his brief show career he took numerous Best of Breeds from the classes and Best of Winners from the puppy classes, against incredibly stiff competition, and was exclusively owner handled! He was never campaigned as a Special, since the show ring wasn't really Murphy's favourite place to be. He was also inducted into the MCOA Hall Of Fame in 2001, for having produced more than 10 Champion Offspring.

While Murphy didn't have all of the health testing done that we would expect to see on a mastiff that is alive today, he was tested to the level commonly accepted in his day & age, and has a track record for producing long-lived, healthy kids. Murphy's owner never had any urinary issues or reports of stones with any of the boys. One thing she does remember is that they didn't see the health issues back then, that have evolved into the breed nowadays. Although Murphy himself was not tested for PRA, many of his siblings & children were, and they all tested "clear" for the PRA gene.

***All puppies from this litter will be DNA tested for PRA & CMR before leaving.***

Wednesday's side of the family has also produced dogs living into their teens, and her great-grandmother was still competing (& loving it!) in the conformation & obedience rings at 9.5 years old.

Wednesday has also had a pretty incredible career, given her limited showing. She finished her Canadian Championship at 11 months with Best of Breed majors, and has a Best Baby Puppy in Group, 2 Best Puppy in Groups, and a Best Bred by Exhibitor in Specialty award to her name. She is our "in house" kleptomaniac, and will sneak off with pretty much anything interesting that isn't nailed down... she's been spotted sneaking off with nail clippers, TV remotes, touques, leashes, etc.... but her favourite item by far would have to be dad's work boots!

This will be a line breeding, and is being done to produce puppies who mirror the best qualities of their parents - namely their breed type, temperament, health and conformation. By using healthy, fully tested dogs who are are a little bit closer together genetically, we end up with puppies who exhibit the traits we want to reproduce (i.e. wonderful temperaments, massive bone structure, big heads, great toplines, etc.).

The puppies from this breeding will be absolutely stunning, with large blocky heads, substantial bone and nice deep bodies. As always, I place my puppies based on the best home for them, not on a first-come first-served basis.

So whether you're looking for a puppy to show, do therapy work, or simply steal your family's hearts (& the best spot on the sofa!), you can rest assured that we've done our very best to breed a healthy, temperamentally sound puppy that will grow up to embody the best of the Mastiff breed's characteristics.

We will (as always), be reserving the pick male and female from this litter for ourselves until we decide which one fits best with our breeding program and future vision.

All of the puppies in this litter will be $3,000 regardless of colour or sex, and will be sold on Spay/Neuter Contracts with Non-Breeding Registrations from the Canadian Kennel Club.

All of our puppies go to their forever homes with:

  • A lifetime guarantee against genetic disease & a 2 year health guarantee for non-genetic conditions;
  • 6 weeks of free health insurance;
  • Copies of all vet checks & health records;
  • A puppy pack;
  • and of course lifetime support with an unconditional return policy.

All 4 of these incredible puppies are in their forever homes... and were spoken for long before the pregnancy was even confirmed.
